Embroidered quilts are exquisite works of art. Proper maintenance can extend their service life and keep them with us for a long time.

1. Cleaning
Due to the complex craftsmanship of embroidered quilts, the number of washings should be minimized. If the quilt is only partially soiled, it is recommended to use a local cleaning method. Gently wipe the stain with a clean damp cloth, and be careful not to rub the embroidery part hard to avoid damaging the embroidery thread and pattern. If the whole quilt must be cleaned, choose a mild neutral detergent and dissolve the detergent in water before putting it in. A washing machine with a gentle mode or hand washing is a better choice. When hand washing, be as careful as if you were treating fragile items, and gently squeeze the quilt to evenly distribute the detergent. During the washing process, avoid soaking for a long time, as this may cause the embroidery thread to fade or the fabric to be damaged.

2. Dehydration after washing
Strong centrifugal dehydration will cause the quilt to deform, so it is best to choose a gentle dehydration method, or directly use a dry towel to absorb excess water. When drying, avoid direct sunlight. The ultraviolet rays in the sun will age and fade the fabric and embroidery thread, so it is best to dry it in a well-ventilated and cool place. If you can only dry it in the sun, it is recommended to turn the quilt over to expose the back to the sun, and do not dry it for too long.

3. Storage after drying
Before storing the embroidered quilt, make sure it is completely dry to avoid residual moisture that causes mold. You can put some desiccant, such as silica gel desiccant, in the quilt to absorb excess moisture. The storage place should be dry and well-ventilated, and avoid placing it in a damp basement or near a water source. To prevent the quilt from being squeezed and deformed, it is best to fold the quilt neatly and place it on the upper layer of the storage box or wardrobe. If space permits, the quilt can be laid flat on the lower layer of the bed or in a dedicated storage cabinet.

4. During daily use
Try to avoid letting sharp objects touch the quilt to prevent the embroidery part from being hooked. If the quilt is used to decorate the bed, do not sit on the quilt for a long time or let heavy objects press on it to avoid affecting the flatness of the quilt and the integrity of the embroidery. In addition, regularly taking out the quilt for ventilation and drying can remove moisture and keep the quilt in good condition, so that the embroidered quilt can bloom with lasting beauty under careful maintenance.
